9.7 Factoring Trinomials
Write down the problem.
o
If A is negative, factor -1 out of
the entire trinomial.
o
Multiply A times C.
o
Do Big X to find the 2 factors.
o
Put an X behind each factor.
o
Use these 2 new monomials to separate
the BX. Now you have
4 monomials.
o
Factor the 1st and 2nd monomials.
Factor the 3rd and
4th monomials.
o
Look for the common binomial and that
becomes one of your
binomial
factors. The terms in front of the common binomial are put together to develop
the other binomial.
Let's try it.

Chapter 9
This chapter involves many aspects of Polynomials. We are not only adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing polynomials but we are beginning to factor quadratic equations. I will post a few videos to assist students but be sure to look up the topics on Khan Academy and Purple Math.
